The Kenyan economy grew by 5% in 2010 and the World Bank expects it to grow by a further 6% in 2011. This has led to increased investment flowing into and within Kenya. Sectors such as construction and banking have recorded vastly improved profits with many of the biggest commercial institutions looking for further funding to upscale their operations. The improved performance of the economy and the infrastructural developments taking place have led to greater investment in Kenya. Foreign remittances outperformed all sectors in Kenya last year as sectors grew. The remittances are from both foreign investors viewing the Kenyan economy more favourably and Kenyans in the diaspora.
